Follow these simple tips to be more efficient and save money on your bills
Heating
- Keep the temperature between 19ºC and 21ºC during the day and between 15ºC and 17ºC at night
- Lower the blinds at night to prevent heat from escaping.
- Insulate windows well: you can save between 20% and 30% on heating costs.
- Do not hide radiators with furniture or behind curtains.
- Turn off the heating when you ventilate and take advantage of the sunniest moments: 10 minutes a day is enough!
- Bleed your radiators regularly to ensure they work optimally.
- Do not dry clothes on radiators.
- Use carpets to improve the thermal sensation of the rooms.
Cooking
- Only use the water you need: the more water you use, the more heat you need to heat it up!
- Use containers with the diffuser bottom slightly wider than the top opening.
- Open the oven only if necessary: Did you know that you lose 25% of the accumulated energy every time you open the oven door?
- Use the microwave and save 60-70% of your energy
- Pressure cookers save you time and up to 80% of energy
Hot water
- Install perlators on taps.
- Adjust the hot water temperature to between 30ºC and 35ºC.
- If you have a boiler or hot water heater, adjust the hot water tap temperature to about 35ºC.
- Turn off the tap while soaping. Doing this will save 10 litres of water per minute.
- Efficient showers should last no more than 5 minutes, with the water no hotter than 30ºC
