Nedgia Catalunya connects Hospital Taulí in Sabadell (Barcelona) to natural gas network

NEDGIA Catalunya conecta o Hospital Taulí de Sabadell (Barcelona) á rede de gas natural

By running on natural gas, the facility will avoid the emission into the atmosphere of between 240,000 and 270,000 Kg of CO2 per year and almost all unburned particles.

NEDGIA Catalunya, the gas distribution company of the Naturgy group, recently connected the Hospital Taulí in Sabadell (Barcelona) to the natural gas network.

The use of natural gas at this hospital will replace the diesel boilers at the complex with natural gas boilers, an energy that will also be used to produce hot water and run the central heating system as well as power the kitchen cookers.

Air quality improvement

Power consumption by Hospital Taulí is estimated at 3.650.000 Kwh/year. The switch from diesel to natural gas will allow the emission into the atmosphere of between 240,000 and 270,000 kg of CO2 per year to be avoided and bring the emission of unburned solid particles down to practically zero. This will lead to a significant air quality improvement in the city of Sabadell and its surrounding areas.
