NEDGIA reminds users of some practical tips for using their gas installations safely

NEDGIA recorda aos usuarios os consellos prácticos para facer un uso seguro das instalacións de gas

The company would like to remind domestic users how important it is to use and maintain gas installations and appliances properly.

As the temperatures fall and people make more use of their natural gas installations, NEDGIA would like to remind domestic users how important it is to use and maintain gas installations and appliances properly in order to avoid possible accidents.

Ensuring correct combustion, making sure vents and the gas exhaust are not obstructed, and closing the main gas valve if you plan to be away for a few days are some of the main practical tips for using gas installations safely.

Furthermore, in order to ensure optimum energy use and appliance safety, Spanish Royal Decree 984/2015 states that a periodic inspection should be performed on individual natural gas receiving installations.

The natural gas distribution company of the Naturgy group reminds users that the owner or, in their absence, the user of the installation is responsible for keeping it in good working order.

What if you smell gas?

The company would like to stress the importance of knowing how to avoid possible incidents when a user smells gas.The strongest recommendations are to open the windows, close the main gas valve and switch off all gas appliances, refrain from switching on electrical appliances and light switches, do not smoke or create sparks, and call the company’s emergency service (NEDGIA:900 750 750).
