Who do we work with?

It is an association that includes companies in the Spanish gas sector and that is committed to complying with the 2030 Agenda of the Sustainable Development Goals and the energy and climate objectives of the European Union. It promotes the use of gas due to its energy and emissions reduction advantages, and it encourages the cooperation of all the agents involved to accelerate the energy transition, seeking a balance between environmental care and the guarantee of supply, economic growth and the well-being of consumers.

It is the association that promotes the use of natural and renewable gas in land, and sea transport in the Iberian peninsula (Spain and Portugal). It has members from different sectors, including energy, automotion, engineering, goods and passenger transportation, ports, shipping companies, shipyards, universities and public authorities.

The Spanish Biogas Association represents, promotes and disseminates renewable gases, the circular economy, the management and recovery of organic waste, and sustainable agroecology and livestock, among other issues, due to its contribution to reducing emissions, generating renewable energy, producing bi-products and promoting the local economy. It also acts as a national and international communication and collaboration platform between the players in the sector.

Gas Distributors 4 Sustainability represents the main natural gas distribution companies in Greece, Spain, France, Ireland, Italy, Portugal and Romania, providing a service to close on 28 million customers, approximately 20% of all European natural gas consumers. One of its objectives is to share the best practices in each of their respective markets in order to improve the quality of services provided to consumers and unleash the potential of renewable gas and the gas distribution networks.

The European Consortium ECO-GATE, led by Nedgia, aims to develop the conventional and renewable natural gas market for the mobility sector across the Atlantic Corridor and its inter-connection with the Rhine-Danube Corridor, as well as across the Spanish Mediterranean Corridor. ECO-GATE uses new technologies and applies innovative solutions to enable the rapid and mass deployment of this alternative fuel, thanks to a significant reduction in the unit cost, as well as a better understanding and more in-depth knowledge of customers’ needs.

European Biogas Association advocates recognising biomethane and other renewable gases as sustainable and flexible energy sources that provide several socio-economic and environmental benefits. EBA works with European institutions, industry, agricultural partners, NGOs and the academic world to develop policies that enable renewable gases and organic fertilisers to be rolled out on a large scale in Europe. This is done with the support of transparent and well-established sustainability certification bodies which guarantee that sustainability remains the nucleus of the industry.

The mission of ERGaR is to enable the cross-border trade of renewable gas with its corresponding sustainability certifications (guarantees of origin) through the European natural gas network, using an independent, transparent and reliable documentation system for the mass balance of biomethane and other renewable gases.

The European Consortium REGATRACE aims to develop the renewable gas market in Europe and create a trading system based on the guarantees of origin of biomethane and other renewable gases in Europe.

European Gas Research Group (GERG) works with the European energy community to develop innovative solutions that place the gas infrastructure at the heart of the energy system, now and in the future. Its objectives include identifying, promoting and executing innovative R+D projects with a strategic focus on the future of gas and working to achieve a sustainable, competitive, safe and low-carbon energy future.

Ready4H2 is an initiative that seeks to support the development of a hydrogen market and share knowledge and experience in order to contribute to the transformation of Europe’s energy infrastructure and help meet the European Union’s climate neutrality goals.
